1Overview
Network Optimization ("the app", "we", "our") is a network diagnostics and speed‑testing utility for Android, developed by Jeweality. The app helps you check internet speed, ping/latency, Wi‑Fi signal quality, and general network information on your own device.
The app does not require an account, does not have a login system, and does not use a cloud backend. Test results and settings are stored only on your device unless you choose to share or export them yourself.
2Data we collect
We designed the app around data minimization. The table below summarizes what is and isn't collected by the app itself (separate from the advertising SDK, covered in Section 5).

3Local storage & history
To show you speed test results, ping test history, and your saved app preferences, the app stores the following only on your device, using Android's local database and preference storage:
- Speed test results (download/upload speed, timestamps)
- Ping test results (latency, jitter, packet loss, timestamps)
- App settings, such as your history retention preference and theme
This data is never transmitted to us or to any server we operate. You can clear this history at any time from within the app's Settings or History screens, or by clearing the app's storage/data from Android system settings, or by uninstalling the app.
4App permissions
The app requests the minimum permissions needed to run diagnostics. Here is exactly what each permission is used for and why:

NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES (Android 13+) | Used with the neverForLocation flag so the app can read your connected Wi‑Fi network name without requesting a location permission. The app never uses this to determine physical location. |
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION (Android 8–12L only) | On these older Android versions, the OS only reveals the true Wi‑Fi network name (SSID) to apps that hold a location permission. We request it solely to unlock this diagnostic field — the app does not read, store, or transmit your GPS location, and this permission is not requested at all on Android 13 and newer. |
You can review or revoke any permission at any time from Android Settings → Apps → Network Optimization → Permissions. Revoking a permission may disable the related diagnostic feature but will not otherwise affect the app.
5Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app is monetized using Google AdMob to display banner and interstitial ads. AdMob is provided by Google and operates as an independent data controller/processor for the advertising data it collects.
Depending on your region, consent status, and device settings, Google and its advertising partners may collect and process:
- Advertising identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID)
- IP address and approximate, coarse location derived from it
- Device information (model, OS version, language, screen size)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, and general engagement with ads)
This data is used by Google to serve ads, measure ad performance, and — where you have given consent, or in regions where it is not legally required — to personalize ads. Where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), the app only shows personalized ads after you have given consent through the consent form described below; otherwise, only non‑personalized ads are shown.

6Your consent choices (GDPR / UK / CCPA)
The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to determine your region and, where legally required (EEA, UK, Switzerland, and similar frameworks), present a consent form before any ad is requested. Ads are not requested until this consent step has been completed or is determined not to be required for your region.
You can change or withdraw your ad‑related consent at any time using the Privacy Options control available within the app (in Settings), which reopens the consent form so you can update your choices.
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA regarding the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross‑context behavioral advertising. Google provides mechanisms for opting out of such sharing where applicable; you can manage this through the in‑app Privacy Options control and your device's ad settings (Android Settings → Privacy → Ads / Google → Ads).
7Third‑party services
The app relies on the following third‑party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review:
- Google AdMob — ad serving. AdMob Privacy & Data
- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) — consent management. UMP overview
- Speed/ping test endpoints — used only to measure your connection's download speed, upload speed, and latency by exchanging test data. No personal information is included in these test requests beyond what is normally sent in any internet connection (such as your IP address, which is inherent to how the internet works).
8Data sharing & sale
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your local test history, Wi‑Fi details, or app usage with any third party, because that data never leaves your device in the first place.
The only data shared with a third party is the advertising data described in Section 5, which is collected directly by Google's AdMob SDK running on your device, subject to your consent choices where applicable — we do not receive, store, or resell this data ourselves.
9Data security
Because your test history and settings are stored locally on your device rather than on a server we operate, the main safeguard is the security of your own device (screen lock, encryption, and Android's app sandboxing). We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date and using a secure lock screen.
Network communication performed by the app (speed tests, ping tests, ad requests) uses standard secure transport where supported by the destination server.
10Children's privacy
The app is a general‑audience network utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If ads are shown to a user known to be under the age of consent in their jurisdiction, the app relies on Google AdMob's applicable child‑directed treatment and signal settings, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families policies. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details in Section 14 so we can address it.
11Data retention & deletion
Local test history is retained on your device according to the history retention setting you choose in the app (for example, keeping only your most recent tests). You can:
- Delete individual or all test history entries from within the app
- Clear all app data via Android Settings → Apps → Network Optimization → Storage → Clear storage
- Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data immediately
Advertising data collected by Google AdMob is retained and deleted according to Google's own data retention practices, which you can review in Google's Privacy Policy.
12Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent to advertising data processing at any time. Because the app itself does not hold personal data on a server, most of these rights can be exercised directly on your device:
- Access/delete local data: use the in‑app History and Settings screens, or clear app storage.
- Manage ad consent: use the in‑app Privacy Options control.
- Manage ad personalization at the OS level: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- Requests regarding Google's own processing: contact Google directly via their Data & Privacy controls.

13Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, legal requirements, or Google Play/AdMob policies. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
